Dr. Deb Davies, DACM, Dipl. OM, L.O.M.

Drawing on the depth and continuity of Traditional Chinese Medicine, this keynote traces the full arc of the childbearing journey, including fertility, conception, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery. Dr. Deb Davies explores how classical principles and contemporary clinical insights converge to support women and families with integrative, compassionate care. Demystifying the Dialogue: Communicating Across Disciplines

Jamie Hampton, L.Ac.

The pelvic floor remains one of the most vital yet underappreciated regions in the body, central to posture, continence, sexual health, and perinatal recovery. Too often omitted from formal training, it holds immense therapeutic potential for acupuncturists working with pregnant and postpartum patients. This presentation blends lecture and live demonstration to clarify pelvic floor anatomy, palpation, and needling methods within a perinatal context. Participants will learn to identify and address common dysfunctions, such as pelvic girdle pain and urinary disorders, while gaining confidence in integrating pelvic floor work into their clinical practice.

Dr. Jamie Hampton, DACM, L.Ac., is a leader in orthopedic and pelvic floor acupuncture and a recognized educator in the treatment of complex perinatal conditions. Her practice focuses on restoring pelvic and core function through advanced, evidence-based acupuncture techniques that address both musculoskeletal and visceral components of dysfunction. Drawing from extensive clinical and teaching experience, Dr. Hampton brings clarity, precision, and confidence to one of the most challenging areas of women’s health, empowering practitioners to expand their skill set and improve patient outcomes.

The Midwife Within: Cultivating Intuition and Integration in Perinatal Practice

Dr. Susan Minich, DACM, LAc, CNM, MSN

Bridging the clinical and the intuitive, this exploration invites practitioners to reconnect with the innate “midwife within,” or the internal compass that guides presence, discernment, and integrative action in perinatal care. Rooted in both Chinese medicine and midwifery philosophy, the discussion examines how intuition and embodied awareness can deepen clinical efficacy, enhance practitioner resilience, and foster compassionate support through every stage of the reproductive journey. Attendees will engage in reflective dialogue and clinical synthesis designed to strengthen therapeutic presence and align technical skill with inner knowing.

Dr. Susan Minich, DACM, L.Ac., CNM, MSN, is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, Certified Nurse-Midwife, and Licensed Acupuncturist with more than four decades of experience in women’s health, fertility, and perinatal medicine. Her career bridges biomedical and traditional frameworks—combining physiologic midwifery, Chinese medicine, and integrative care to support women through every reproductive stage. A longtime clinician and educator, Dr. Minich served as faculty for the University of Pennsylvania and USC’s Keck School of Medicine, and developed hospital-based acupuncture programs for women’s health at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles. She brings a rare depth of clinical wisdom and a philosophy rooted in respect for physiology, the natural process of birth, and the healing power of presence.

Postpartum Care in TCM:  Mother Roasting & the Fourth Trimester

Tina Singh, L.Ac.

The postpartum “fourth trimester” marks a profound opportunity for restoration and renewal when guided by the principles of Chinese medicine. Drawing from classical traditions, this discussion centers on the practice of “Mother Roasting” with moxibustion and the concept of closing the birth gate, emphasizing food therapy and patient education for sustained recovery. Demonstrations of Japanese-style gentle needling and key postpartum acupuncture points illustrate an integrative approach that supports both physiological healing and emotional grounding.

Tina Ghahramani-Singh, L.Ac., Dipl. OM, is a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, and somatic coach specializing in women’s health, fertility, and postpartum care. With nearly two decades of experience spanning energy healing, Oriental medicine, and birth support, she blends gentle Japanese and Esoteric acupuncture, herbal therapy, and lifestyle guidance. Co-founder of Healing Light Family Acupuncture in Southern California and a clinic supervisor at Yo San University, she is dedicated to empowering women and mothers to restore balance and embody their innate vitality.

Pelvic Floor Tune Up: Postpartum Restoration

Linh Taylor, L.Ac., DTCM, CMTPT/DNAc

Pregnancy and childbirth create significant biomechanical and hormonal shifts that can compromise pelvic floor integrity and core stability. Addressing these changes through postpartum acupuncture promotes effective recovery and reduces the risk of urinary dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, and dyspareunia. This workshop presents an integrated approach combining acupuncture protocols with athletic taping methods, therapeutic breathing, targeted physical therapy, and yoga-informed movement. Participants gain practical, evidence-based strategies applicable not only to postpartum patients but also to perimenopausal women facing similar pelvic floor challenges.

Dr. Linh Taylor specializes in pelvic floor acupuncture and dry needling with an emphasis on women’s health and musculoskeletal restoration. Trained in functional movement, tune-up fitness, corrective exercise, and medical massage, she integrates these modalities to relieve pelvic floor pain, address trigger points, and optimize mobility. Dr. Taylor holds a Doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture and is known for her compassionate, results-driven approach that empowers patients to reclaim comfort and confidence in their bodies. She is the founder and owner of Java Acupuncture Integrative Medicine in San Jose.

“This was a wonderful conference, not just because of the information shared but also because of the deep personal connections I made and experiences that were shared.”

I really appreciated that it was an intimate enough group that people shared their birth stories and experiences. I think many participants didn't realize how important their own stories were, and having the platform to share was very healing for everyone. I know that healing will serve all of us as practitioners to ultimately better serve our patients. Dr. Deb Davies is a wonderful facilitator. She also opens discussions during the PUSH Professionals Mentorship in a very similar way that is also so powerful. I highly recommend to anyone that they join this conference next year and also to take the mentorship starting this October!”

  • I will definitely look for the next PUSH Professionals Perinatal Acupuncture Conference. The presenters covered a wide variety of topics and were clearly experts in their fields. Throughout the conference, Deb Davies, its organizer, promoted a community bond for us and was fully available to participants. Kathleen Poole (United States of America)

  • This conference was much more than educational material. It was a chance to genuinely bond with like-minded people. I didn’t know how much I truly needed a conference like this in my life. Everyone presented their topics with compassion, knowledge, and empathy. I am grateful for all of the presenters and attendees.

    Melani Leonard-Cooper

  • PUSH Professionals put together a talented group of women to share their expertise and heartfelt experiences based on their clinical work and research with pregnant and postpartum women and families. It was truly collaborative, and I gained so much. I now have more tools and information to create better pregnancy care plans for my patients.

    Alison Healy

  • The Perinatal Acupuncture Conference was amazing! I'm already more inspired and empowered in my work with patients, and in how I interact with other healthcare professionals in the birth world. I've gained confidence and competence in my skills as an acupuncturist supporting pregnancy, birth, and postpartum healing. This event was invaluable.

    Ashlie Martin

  • The subject of perinatal acupuncture is not well taught in school, nor is there much TCM research available in English. This conference has been instrumental in sharing knowledge of how we can support pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with TCM. This information is vitally important in supporting a large percentage of the population we see as patients. When mothers are supported, all of life is better.

    Grace Stojanov

  • I loved the intention behind the conference. Though there were incredible moments, it sometimes felt like there was an “us vs. them” stance regarding Western and Eastern medical care. I believe holding this stance prevents true integrative collaboration, which these gatherings could better cultivate.
